Italian Modest fashion inspiration – listing our fav for this season

Summer time is the right moment of the year for sitting down and make the point about the past fashion collections and what’s next. I went through dozens of magazines- some of them I didn’t have the appropriate time to read before- and tried to capture as much as I could. I was quite surprise to realize how much Italy is loved by Modest fashion lovers/ ambassadors, as the perfect place for their summers shots and where to get inspired.
I started wondering how Italian couture could catch and display a Modest attitude, even without being labeled. The result has been of course sorprendente!

I come across Chiara Boni La Petite Robe , with her velvet style, mixed with a revived approach to contemporary. A little nuance recalling the 50s, in that Audrey hat , spreading a sense of romance.

Jean Charles de Castelbajac, creative director at Benetton, well known for his inner fire towards arts and pop culture, for this new fall/winter he stays stick to colors power , combined with a linear pattern  , where the belt wrap up the Modest couture and silhouette.

June has been a month for celebrating the 90 years of Luisa Via Roma, the historical Fiorentina luxury retailer . The right moment for launching the first CR runway, created by Carine Roitfeld. Former director at Vogue Paris, consultant for luxury brands as Tom Ford and Chanel and now turned into founder of her own magazine CR Fashion Book . Carine Roitfeld has been the first visionnaire to include hijabi model Halima Aden on the Western brand catwalks. Starting from that, terms as inclusion and diversity have been the most refrained ones within fashion houses.

Italy has become the final home for artists, poets, writers, creative minds. J.J. Martins, American journalist who relocate to Italy, can be mentioned in this list. Her brand La Double J is literally a full diving into a “living like an Italian” style, as the leitmotiv of her latest collection suggests, where she took the spectator onto a cruise to discover the beauty of art, taste and houses in a travel to Palermo. Long sleeves, vintage attitude, boho chic flavour..and we can add also a Modest taste.
